Motorola Q9c Finds Verizon, Thanks to VZ Navigator!
March 31st, 2008 by Mark Spoonauer
Is it us or is the Q the new RAZR? Granted, it’s not available for T-Mobile (at least not yet), but Verizon now has two of them, Sprint has basically the same Q9c model, and AT&T has the Q9 Global. And there’s a Q9c Lime edition coming from another carrier. Seriously. In terms of specs and design, we prefer the AT&T version of the Q9 because of its faster processor, Opera browser, and faster keyboard, but the Q9c is unique in its own way. It loses the snazzy multimedia user interface of the Q9m, which was a bit disorienting for our tastes, and gains GPS capability.
In fact, this is the first Windows Mobile smart phone in Verizon’s lineup that supports the VZ Navigator service, which provides turn-by-turn directions and local search for $9.99 per month. Another plus: Documents to Go is on board, so you can create as well as edit Office files on the fly. Otherwise, this Q9c is pretty much identical to the Q9m, complete with easy one-touch shortcut buttons, 2.4-inch display, 1.3-MP camera, and stereo Bluetooth.
Road warriors looking to combine the functionality of a Garmin with a smart phone can pick up the Q9c this month for $149 (with the requisite two-year agreement, rebate, and online discount).
Just check out the full specs.
