Packing high-definition goodness in a compact 9.5-ounce package, the new Sanyo Xacti HD1000 records in full HD at 1920 x 1080 pixels. It sports a 10X optical zoom lens and a 2.7-inch widescreen display. The camcorder can store up to 85 minutes of footage on an 8GB SDHC Memory Card, thanks to the advanced MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format. The Xacti HD1000 also captures four-megapixel still images and features an image stabilizer for stills and video.

The device will feature Sanyo's new Xacti Library option, which makes it easy to save video and image files by simply connecting to a television and external hard drive. After connecting the docking station to an external hard drive via USB and to a television via an HDMI cable in the base station, the user can navigate using the menu that appears on the television to search through the thumbnails and choose either to play the file or save it to the external hard disk.

The Sanyo Xacti HD1000 will be available in September for $799.99.
