Clippz.com, an upstart mobile video provider, announced its "Cascade" technology. Cascade enables mobile users to side-load optimized video content to their PDAs, cell phones, or media devices regardless of their wireless carrier's data network.

Clippz.com optimizes popular video content from sites like Metacafe, MySpace, and YouTube by encoding in MP-4, 3GP, 3G2, and WMV, based on a predefined set of more than 30 device profiles compatible with more than 150 mobile devices. Users can transfer video to their mobile devices via Bluetooth, USB cable connection, or by writing directly to a memory card. No software or driver installation is required.

At launch there are more than 500 video clips on clippz.com, including edited, "best of" collections from Metacafe, MySpace, and YouTube, with new clips being added every day.
